The Nedis ASPL2512BK optical splitter is used to distribute an S/PDIF digital audio signal from a single source to two Toslink-compatible devices. It is designed for home audio, home cinema or audiovisual installations where the same source must supply several playback systems.
Its bi-directional operation offers a degree of integration flexibility depending on the configuration. The splitter supports uncompressed 2-channel LPCM streams as well as 2-channel audio and DTS signals, covering all common uses in optical digital broadcasting.
The fibre optic link allows transmission that is insensitive to electromagnetic interference, an advantage in environments where several pieces of electronic equipment coexist. The product accepts Toslink cable lengths of up to 5 metres while maintaining signal integrity.
Installation is straightforward, thanks to direct installation and the 5 V DC power supply. The metal casing contributes to the stability of the unit in a fixed installation or in an accessory rack.
