Presentation
Because there's no substitute for real manual fader control and a real console feel, give your Sommateur 8816 an 8804 Faderpack.
The Neve 8804 Faderpack can be installed directly in a 19" (4U) rack.
But you can also use it outside and, in this case, SonoVente.com recommends you add the sides trims for aesthetic appeal.

A total of eighteen long-throw faders provide the ultimate precision for fine-tuning an 8816 mix. Each fader ranges from -inf to 0dB in the centre position and up to +15dB at the top.
The 8804 has separate left and right main mix faders. This unique layout allows fine stereo balancing at the crucial main stage.
Neve ® recall software forms a software bridge between the 8816 and 8804 units, linking solo and cut switches for seamless integration.
The link cable supplied between the 8816 and the 8804 fader pack is 3 metres long, the maximum we recommend. Tests were carried out with a cable length of 5 metres with no adverse effects. As the signals between the two units are unbalanced, they are more sensitive to external interference, and great care must be taken to ensure that other cables do not interfere with the audio signals.
Adding an 8804 to your 8816 gives you access to a host of new features and capabilities! The 8804 has 16 direct outputs via a D-type connection; these outputs add even more flexibility when recording via the 8816, allowing individual 'stems' to be tracked before or after the fade from the 16 inputs.
Adding an 8804 to your 8816 opens up the possibility of using the 8816's level pots as aux sends - ideal for additional monitor mixing or as reverb sends into your favourite external effects units.
Every fader position and switch setting on the 8804 can be quickly recalled using Neve® recall software. The interactive recall application tracks and follows manual fader positions, allowing you to recall your mixing sessions in seconds.
The 8804 has 16 direct outputs via two D-type connections at the rear of the fader pack. These outputs can be connected to your audio interface, providing 16 individual channel outputs for monitoring via the 8816. Each direct output can be muted or adjusted pre- or post-fader via Neve Recall software.
When the 8816 and 8804 are connected, the auxiliary jumper inside the 8816 must be switched to 8804 operation (full instructions in the 8816 user manual). The 8804s now function as level controls for all 16 channels, and the 8816 level controls function as auxiliary pre/post fader sends for each channel.
The 8816 and 8804 software switches are linked via the Neve Recall software. Both units must be connected to a computer with the application running for seamless communication, linking the mute and solo switches. Each unit must have the same M/S settings on the back of the 8816 and under the 8804, if the 8804 is set to S and the 8816 is set to M , the communication link will be interrupted.

Excellente extension pour la 8816 ! Les faders apportent un vrai confort de mixage et une sensation analogique très agréable. Précis, intuitif et parfaitement intégré au workflow hybride.
