The Pearl SCD1465MK-186 snare drum has a 25 mm makha wood body, reinforced in the centre by a Dado-Loc Thai oak insert, giving it remarkable solidity. As a result, every strike produces a sound that's both powerful and controlled, with beautiful depth and precise timbre.
The MasterCast moulded hoops accentuate volume while controlling harmonics, keeping the sound clear even in sustained passages. What's more, the Swivel Tube Lugs limit contact with the barrel, allowing the body to vibrate freely and providing a natural resonance. The 20-strand phosphor bronze UltraSound tone responds to every nuance of play, and the SST-5057 tie rods guarantee even, stable tuning on both sides.
The SR-150 Click-Lock release prevents the tension knob from loosening, even under fast or very accented strokes. What's more, the wood is hand-lacquered, protecting the body and highlighting its red and brown veins. The result is an elegant instrument, both robust and refined, suitable for stage and studio.
The combination of makha and Thai oak keeps the tone rich and dynamic, whether you're playing softly or powerfully. MasterCast rings and STL lugs ensure effective projection and limit unwanted harmonics, for a clear, precise sound.
