Presentation
The ProMark Mike McIntosh Signature Flips are crafted from solid hickory, a dense wood that absorbs the repeated vibrations of a marching rhythm without cracking. The bespoke olive, carved from wood rather than nylon, delivers a crisp impact on the tenor tom head, with a diameter of ∅17.8 mm and a length of 419.1 mm that maintain a substantial feel in the handle.
The long taper opens up the olive on the rebound. The purple painted finish makes the stick easy to spot at a glance in a kit bag shared between several drummers. At the other end, the internally moulded rubber tip withstands rough handling by the stick holder without marking the shell.
Created in a Texan workshop under the reference TXDCMM2XW, these Flips undergo ProMatch quality control, which pairs each set according to weight and tonal response before packaging. The name ‘Flips’ is no coincidence, as the two playing surfaces act as striking surfaces and extend the pair’s lifespan before wear and tear sets in. They accompany the march both indoors and outdoors, from the first to the last step of the parade.
