Presentation
The PRS Silver Sky is the result of an exceptional partnership between John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith, for an authentic, revisited sound.
Inspired by the iconic instruments of the early 60s, they have created a guitar that combines the warmth of vintage sound with the precision of a modern instrument.
The inverted headstock shape, vintage locking tuners, steel bridge and 635JM pickups are just some of the details that make the Silver Sky an exceptional guitar. The bridge, in close contact with the body, enhances the resonance and power of the single-coil pickups.
The profile of the neck has been carefully designed for optimum playing comfort, and the maple fingerboard provides extra brilliance and bite.

John Mayer Silver Sky Maple in a nutshell:
- A bold design: the headstock shape, inspired by the PRS signature model but inverted to facilitate Mayer's playing while preserving the string length behind the nut (for better tuning).
- The maple neck follows the original 635JM shape, and the maple fingerboard has slightly rounded shoulders for greater comfort.
- Modern mechanics with a vintage look: a traditional retro look combined with the PRS locking system for increased stability.
- Innovative vibrato: the steel vibrato features the patented PRS design with Gen III knife screws. Its increased contact with the body amplifies the guitar's natural sound and improves the signal-to-noise ratio of single-coil pickups.
- Exceptional pickups: the 635JM single-coil pickups deliver a full, round sound, with musical highs that are never strident or aggressive.
