Radial - HotShot MD

With the Radial Engineering HotShot MD, musicians and artistic directors have a tool designed to streamline communication on stage. This passive switcher for dynamic microphones instantly redirects the signal to different interlocutors, whether the band, the technicians or both at the same time. The audience hears nothing, exchanges take place discreetly, and the show goes on uninterrupted.

The design is based on two momentary footswitches B and C. As long as they are not engaged, the signal flows normally to the main PA via output A. But as soon as a button is pressed, the output to the front panel is cut and the voice is redirected to the chosen destination. Both can be operated simultaneously, guaranteeing direct contact with all speakers. This simple, reliable and silent logic offers an enormous gain in comfort for musicians who want to keep control of their microphone.

Built in a robust 14-gauge steel chassis, the HotShot MD is ready to take on the rigours of touring. Radial has incorporated its famous noise-free switches, preventing any unpleasant clicks or pops, even in the middle of a performance. In addition, ground lift switches on the B and C outputs make it easy to eliminate ground loops, ensuring a clean signal with no parasitic hum.

This box is entirely passive, which means that no external power supply is required. It accepts only dynamic microphones, ensuring simple, straightforward operation. With a bandwidth of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and virtually no distortion, it faithfully preserves voice quality. Lockable XLR cabling ensures a secure connection, even in the most demanding conditions.

There are a number of uses on stage. The HotShot MD can be used as a 'cough mute' by leaving output C unconnected, as an internal communication channel to give precise indications, or as an effects trigger if outputs B and C are routed to different processors. This versatility makes it an invaluable tool for singers, sound engineers and touring musicians alike.
