The TD-50X module powers the TD-50KV2 and TD-50K2 kits, but it's also available as a standalone module to bring the latest Roland technology to all V-Drums kits. And if you already own a TD-50 module, you can upgrade it to a TD-50X version with an inexpensive upgrade.

The TD-50X's Prismatic Sound Modeling technology truly brings your electronic drums to life in a unique way, using multiple layers of samples recorded in the world's finest studios, as well as behavioural modelling techniques refined over more than two decades. Inspired by the prism, which refracts a beam of light, revealing all the colours of the spectrum, our revolutionary approach is capable of producing an unlimited palette of sonic colours with each stroke of the drumstick. The initial attack is followed by a complex blend of rich harmonics, just like when you hit an acoustic drum or cymbal. You can really feel the sound change with your nuances, creating that magical, interactive connection that immerses you totally in the emotion of the moment. From the subtlest Ghost Notes and detailed articulations to the most powerful playing, your technique knows no limits when faced with a TD-50X.
Roland Digital Pads: a revolution in electronic drumming
The TD-50X features three USB-format trigger inputs for Roland digital pads, allowing you to make the most of the enormous potential of Prismatic Sound Modeling technology. Multi-sensor detection of the PD140-DS snare, CY-18DR ride and VH-14D hi-hat pads combines with the module's ultra-fast data processing to give these essential elements authentic, detailed acoustic nuances. All your playing techniques are perfectly conveyed, whether it's a subtle touch on the Ride cymbal to muffle it, or alternating strikes on the skin, Rim Shots or Cross Sticks on the snare drum. The highly innovative VH-14D completes the experience, providing touch sensitivity, timbre variations and open-to-close detection resolution never before achieved on an electronic hi-hat.
