Savarez - 510CRJ New Cristal / Cantiga Tension Mixte

The Savarez 510CRJ is based on a simple mechanical observation: trebles and basses do not have the same tension requirements. The New Cristal E1-B2-G3 trebles in transparent nylon sound open and centred under normal tension - too much load would make them stiff and dull under the fingernail. The Cantiga D4-A5-E6 basses in silver wire, on the other hand, require a high level of tension so that their fundamentals assert themselves without collapsing on held notes.

The 510CRJ's mixed tension translates this physical reality into a hybrid set-up in which each group of strings operates in its optimum range. The nylon treble retains its characteristic transparency of sound, while the silvery thread of the bass structures the lower register with clarity. Also available in normal and loud tensions, this set of 6 strings made in France covers classical guitars for both repertoire and everyday use.
