The Schill GT 380.RM cable reel continues a legacy that began in 1948, when engineer Otto Schill launched a portable cable reel. Since 1968, the factory in Laichingen, Baden-Württemberg, has been the centre of production, with product ranges for audio, broadcasting, industry and the trades. The IT reels are made from high-quality plastic, whilst the HT and SK reels are made from high-quality metal; this model has been tried and tested in use.
The drum’s special rubber absorbs shocks during transport and is resistant to petrol and oils, which is important both in a lorry boot and on a stage. The drum’s 380 mm diameter minimises cable kinking with every winding. A 50 mm central opening provides a grip for the hand, and the easy-to-operate axle bearing ensures smooth rotation. The RM auxiliary reel makes it easy to store lines, hoses and cables.
A Velcro strap secures the reel. The lockable brake screw secures the drum whilst in transit. The cable is not included, and a drive unit is available as an accessory. The reel accommodates XLR-XLR micro-cables, LS cables, CEE cables and multi-core cables. Measuring 491 x 380 x 182 mm and weighing 4.35 kg, it fits into a control room case.
