Rme - AO25 8XPRO 10m
With a reach of 10 metres, the RME AO25 8XPRO 10m multi-pair cable allows the connection point to be physically relocated without sacrificing the ability to bundle eight analogue audio channels into a single link. Its central D-Sub 25 male connector consolidates the eight channels on the equipment side, whilst the eight numbered male XLR connectors allow them to be distributed separately to a mixing desk, patch panel, patch rack or other audio equipment.
Presentation
The male D-Sub 25 connector bundles the eight channels together at the source equipment. At the other end, the eight male XLR connectors allow each connection to be accessed separately and routed to the desired location. This architecture can be used to establish a link between a rack-mounted interface or converter and a mixing desk, an audio patchbay or another area of the control room. It also allows remote equipment to be retained when it is not desirable to group it physically together.
The XLR connectors are individually numbered to make it easier to identify the channels. In a system comprising several analogue multipairs, this identification eliminates the need to visually trace each cable along its entire length to locate a channel. The D-Sub 25 connector, meanwhile, features a 4/40 UNC thread designed to ensure it can be secured to compatible equipment.
The 14 mm common sheath groups the eight audio links together and facilitates their routing through technical infrastructure. Despite its length, the multi-pair cable thus maintains a single physical route between the two pieces of equipment, which can simplify the organisation of a rack or the routing of cables between different areas of an installation.
