Presentation
The Shure MXW APX8 is an eight-channel wireless access point specifically designed to provide advanced connectivity and management for MXW neXt wireless microphones. It incorporates advanced audio and network technologies that ensure reliable transmission and exceptional sound quality, essential in professional environments such as meeting rooms, lecture halls, and conference spaces.
A key feature of the MXW APX8 is its onboard IntelliMix DSP, which incorporates advanced signal processing capabilities. This DSP provides echo cancellation, ambient noise reduction, and intelligent automixing, ensuring optimal vocal clarity without interference or distortion. Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and audio equalization dynamically adjust the signal to deliver faithful voice reproduction, even in challenging acoustic conditions.
Frequency management is fully automated thanks to the Automatic Frequency Management system, which continuously scans the radio spectrum to select the most stable channels and automatically switches in case of interference. This feature ensures a robust and secure RF link, preventing unwanted signal loss and dropouts.
The MXW APX8 simplifies installation and integration with reduced cabling, using a single Ethernet connection for both PoE power and Dante transmission. Dante support enables seamless integration with modern digital audio infrastructures, while USB-C and analog connections provide additional flexibility for interconnecting with various audio systems.
With its two RJ45 ports, the MXW APX8 offers three network modes:
- Switched: Allows standard shared network operation.
- Split: Separates audio and control streams for greater stability.
- Redundant: Provides network redundancy for increased reliability. Data security is a key element of the MXW APX8. It supports advanced protocols, including 802.1x, secure boot and storage, and AES encryption, ensuring the confidentiality and protection of audio transmissions and control data.
Installation and integration of the access point are facilitated thanks to a supplied mounting plate and a paintable cover, allowing discreet ceiling or wall mounting. This ensures a minimal equipment presence in environments where aesthetics are important.
The MXW APX8 also supports bidirectional transmission, meaning it can send a secondary audio program to wireless transmitters, increasing flexibility for simultaneous translation systems or monitoring applications.
Finally, multiple MXW APX8 units can be combined for configurations of up to 80 channels in Europe and 160 channels in HD mode, making it a scalable solution for large conferencing infrastructures.
Access to an intuitive web interface, via a PC connected to the same network, allows for complete system control and monitoring, giving audio administrators the ability to optimize performance and make necessary adjustments in real time.
With its advanced audio processing, comprehensive connectivity, and simplified frequency and security management, the Shure MXW APX8 represents a cutting-edge solution for demanding environments requiring high-quality sound capture and broadcasting.
