Presentation
The Shure UA874 WB is an active directional antenna covering a wide frequency range from 470 to 900 MHz. Its design is based on a periodic log dipole, which enables it to concentrate reception in the desired area while effectively reducing unwanted signals arriving from the rear or sides. This cardioid polar pattern is a clear advantage in places where RF noise can interfere with reception, such as television sets, stages with a high density of equipment or modular installations.
The inclusion of a four-level gain amplifier means that the antenna's behaviour can be precisely adapted to the length and type of coaxial cable used. This means you can compensate for a loss of signal due to a large distance between the antenna and the receiver, or limit amplification when a strong RF presence requires more control. This adjustment gives the user a real margin of adjustment to optimise reception according to the operating site, technical constraints or stage conditions.
The UA874 WB is easy to install in a variety of configurations thanks to its integrated articulated stand. It can be mounted on a microphone stand, wall-mounted or suspended, offering great flexibility for fixed or mobile installations. Its sturdy construction means it can be used regularly by professionals, whether on tour, in theatres or in corporate environments. Commonly used with Shure ULX-D, QLX-D, SLX-D or Axient series receivers, it provides a reliable and versatile solution for extending the effective range and stabilising the reception of an HF ensemble. Users benefit from a cleaner signal, greater resistance to interference and simple but precise control of the RF environment.
