Presentation
The Squier Affinity Telecaster, finished in 3-Color Sunburst, remains true to the timeless lines that have built its reputation. Its poplar body, covered in a gloss polyurethane varnish, is a pleasure to hold upright or seated. The maple neck has a comfortable 'C' profile, with a satin-finish back for greater fluidity. The maple fingerboard has a modern 9.5" radius and is fitted with 21 Medium Jumbo frets, giving plenty of room for wide bends and precise tuning.
As for the pickups, the Telecaster has two simple ceramic coils, in neck and bridge positions. This configuration delivers the clear, snappy twang that defines the model's DNA, with a strong presence in the mix. A 3-position selector, with volume and tone controls, lets you explore a range of acoustic colours. The fixed bridge with six adjustable bridges and through strings ensure stable tuning, while the oil bath action makes string changes easy.
The Marshall DSL5C features two separate channels for warm clean and dense overdrive. Its 5 watts of tube power (or 1 watt via the switch) are supported by two ECC83 preamps and an ECC82 power amp, giving a dynamic, lively response. The 10-inch Celestion Ten-30 driver delivers balanced audio, ideal for both low volume and recording.
The controls are clear: volume and gain per channel, common three-band EQ and a 'Tone Shift' button for sculpting the midrange. There's a digital reverb, an effects loop for pedals, and a Softube emulated line output for playing or recording with headphones. The mini-jack input lets you plug in an audio player, while the included footswitch handles channel change and reverb.
The supplied 3-metre jack cable (6 mm diameter, 1.5 mm² cross-section) ensures a stable connection.
This pack brings together three complementary elements. The Telecaster brings its assertive character, the DSL5C a wide sound palette, and the cable reliability. Whether you're learning, recording or playing live, all you have to do is plug in, tune up and enjoy.
