Dorico Pro 6 does more than just put notes on a staff: it offers a real working environment for musicians who write, correct, orchestrate or engrave scores on a daily basis. The aim is clear: to spend less time formatting and more time making music.

In this new version, Steinberg has introduced a proof-reading panel that points out errors that could lead to misunderstandings during rehearsal. Collisions, unnecessary silences, ambiguous articulations: everything is detected as soon as it is entered. This eliminates the need to go back and forth with the performers.

The interface remains easy to read and modular, with zones dedicated to instrument configuration, writing, engraving and exporting. It's quick to get to grips with for those who have already used a score editor, but the time savings become noticeable for orchestral projects, large ensembles or film scores.

Dorico Pro 6 also allows you to go a long way towards customisation: one-click cutaways, multi-layered chords, automatic desk condensations, pixel-accurate system labels... Even the placement of lines, symbols and arrows is adjustable.

On the playback side, the included sound library (HALion, Groove Agent, Iconica Sketch) provides a realistic model, with detailed MIDI editing in the piano roll. Export is possible in PDF, XML, audio or interchangeable formats.
