Technics - SL-1210MKX

The Technics SL-1210MKX DJ turntable is designed for professionals seeking stable vinyl playback in high-volume sound environments. The ±4 per cent pitch adjustment offers a level of precision that turntablists will appreciate for beatmatching on vinyl, particularly when tempos are very close. At the other end of the scale, the ±50 per cent range allows for radical speed variations, useful for scratching and turntablism. These two approaches provide remarkable flexibility for manual control of the tempo.

At the heart of this direct-drive turntable, the ironless motor features adjustable start-up torque and braking behaviour, allowing the mechanical response to be tailored to mixing techniques. Playback at 33⅓, 45 and 78 rpm, complemented by the reverse playback function, broadens the possibilities for manipulating records.

Whether in a fixed DJ booth, a festival setup or a professional hire system, the enhanced vibration resistance meets the practical demands of sound reinforcement. The balanced chassis and isolating feet help to minimise the risk of feedback when bass levels are high.

With this design, Technics aims to deliver consistent playback quality in situations where mechanical stability is just as important as mixing precision, particularly during long sets or when DJs hand over to one another.

The black finish and silver tonearm give this high-end turntable a understated look, true to the visual identity of the SL-1200 series. The quieter reset switch rounds off the improvements designed for use in the DJ booth.

Positioned above the SL-1210MK7, this high-end DJ turntable is aimed at permanent professional installations, hire companies and technical service providers working with touring artists. Its design and mechanical settings are tailored for intensive use, where consistent performance is just as important as the precision of the DJ’s inputs.
