Thorens - TD 403 DD Oak

The Thorens TD 403 DD Oak is designed for those who want to enjoy their vinyl records on a direct-drive turntable with a matt oak finish. Its motor drives the platter directly and maintains speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 revolutions per minute, selectable via the front-panel switch. The start and stop controls are located in the same place, ensuring that the essential controls remain easily accessible.

The die-cast aluminium platter weighs 1.4 kg, is 22 mm thick and has a diameter of 30.48 cm. The Thorens TP 150 tonearm features height and azimuth adjustment, an effective mass of 14 g and an SME connector that makes it easy to change the cartridge holder. The magnetic anti-skating system uses a sliding weight guided by a nylon thread on a ruby bearing. This allows you to adjust the tonearm precisely to suit your playback setup.

The Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge is fitted as standard on the TP 150 and uses a bare elliptical stylus with a moving magnet. It has an output voltage of 5.5 mV and a frequency response of 20 to 25,000 Hz at -3 dB, with a recommended tracking force of 1.8 g. A rubber platter mat is included, whilst the chassis features an MDF surround. With its oak finish, the TD 403 DD Oak therefore adds a natural touch to your setup whilst retaining a design focused on precise analogue playback.
