Vinyl Systems

With the TD 204, Thorens offers a manual turntable that guarantees quality, long life and performance, perfect for beginners and enthusiasts of the vinyl turntable scene. The built-in phono pre-amp delivers impeccable sound quality, and audio isolation is ensured by the belt drive system.

ARTICLE N° 90698
The design of the TD 204 is typical of THORENS turntables, combining both aesthetics and practicality. Available in 'gloss black' and 'gloss walnut' surface finishes, every detail has been taken into account to deliver a quality product: die-cast aluminium platter, anti-vibration feet and many other special features.

The Thorens TD 202 uses a belt drive system with a DC motor to rotate the platter at speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 rpm. The speed is selected by means of a switch located on the front of the turntable on the left-hand side.

The Thorens TD 204 has a switchable MM phono pre-amp built into its chassis. It can be connected directly to a stereo amplifier, hi-fi system or even a pair of wireless speakers that do not have a phono input. The phono pre-amp can be switched off to allow connection to the phono input of a stereo amp or to an external phono pre-amp if required.

The Thorens TD-204 comes with an Audio-Technica AT 95E phono cell pre-assembled and factory-tuned. Although this is an entry-level moving-magnet (MM) cell, it benefits from meticulous build quality and offers respectable performance. It can be replaced by a higher-end cartridge to improve playback performance.

Combined with this, THORENS offers a TP 120 9" tone arm with impressive performance; offering both high-quality bearing technology and significantly reduced friction coefficients, the TP 120 tone arm reminds us of all the quality properties of the larger models.
