The Thorens TD 403 DD turntable in black lacquer is an improved version of the Thorens TD 402 DD turntable, part of the brand's TD 400 range. It features a Thorens TP 150 tone arm, an optimised platter, an ultra-precise antiskating system and an Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge. The latter, with its moving magnet, has a bare elliptical diamond for dynamic, accurate sound rich in detail.

Presentation
The Thorens TD 403 DD turntable uses a direct platter drive system to ensure stable, precise rotation. The motor offers two speeds, 33 and 45 revolutions per minute, easily adjustable via a selector switch on the left-hand side of the turntable.
The Thorens TP 150 tone arm is an angled model inherited from the top-of-the-range Thorens TD 1500 turntable. Adjustable for height and azimuth, it has an effective mass of 14 grams and an SME connector for easy cell holder replacement. The anti-skating system is a sliding weight attached to a nylon thread guided on a ruby bearing located in the base of the arm.
The Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge pre-mounted on the TP 150 pick-up arm is a moving magnet model with a bare elliptical diamond, ensuring better transmission of groove variations between the diamond and the cartridge generator for a more accurate sound, particularly in the treble. With an output level of 5.5 mV, it can be easily combined with any RIAA phono preamp.
