Wolfmix - Wolfmix W1

The Wolfmix W1 DMX controller turns conventional wisdom on its head, with its integrated USB-to-DMX interface and a host of features that make it a highly attractive alternative to conventional DMX controllers.

A true stand-alone DMX controller with an intuitive interface, the Wolfmix W1 can do without a computer, making it an ideal solution for small clubs, DJs, solo entertainers and stage performers.

The Wolfmix W1 has a maximum of four DMX universes with 2048 channels and is fully compatible with any DMX device. However, universes 3 and 4 require an upgrade at extra cost.

The Wolfmix W1 control interface manages eight fixture groups to which up to 680 spotlights, beams and 50 fixture types with up to 5000 fixture properties (colour/gobo, etc.) can be assigned.

It is equipped with three FX modules for Color, Move and Beam, each with eight types of effect. Six flash buttons for controlling Strobe, Blinder, Speed, Blackout, Smoke and Special FX provide quick access to frequently used functions.

Simply select the type of light show using the rotary encoder and determine the DMX channel on which the fixture is to be used. Enter the number of spots and assign them to one of eight groups. The DMX channels are assigned automatically according to the DMX channel mode selected. Once the individual lights have been configured, the groups can be controlled directly using the 20 pads.

For stand-alone operation, the DMX controller has an internal omnidirectional electret microphone and a 3.5 mm mini jack input for feeding in a trigger signal.

As an option, the W1 can also be integrated into Ableton Live via WLINK synchronisation. All in all, the Wolfmix lets you save 20 nameable live editing keys and 100 nameable presets as snapshots, or even save entire projects and sets with the WTOOLS application.

Projects can also be saved locally directly in the device. Wolfmix W1 offers up to six internal project storage locations. Offline 3D visualisation with "Easy View" software is also possible via WTOOLS, but an optional add-on is required here.

All the Wolfmix W1's connections are on the rear of the machine. There's a line input on a 3.5 mm mini jack and a USB port for communication with a computer, which also serves as a stand-alone power supply. There are also two 3-pin XLR DMX outputs, a 5-pin DMX output and a 5-pin DMX input/output.
