The result of a legendary collaboration with Steve Gadd and Yamaha, the RBJAZZRW Recording Custom Jazz Real Wood 18" birch drum set produces exceptional sonic clarity and focused sustain, thanks in part to the redesigned, weighted shells, ensuring a 'pre-equalized' sound perfect for recording or small ensemble playing. The 18" Jazz bass drum is specifically raised to optimise barrel resonance and precisely centre the impact of the bat, delivering a more percussive and precise sound that fits perfectly into acoustic settings or complex configurations. Featuring 100% birch six-ply drums with a 30-degree chamfer, this drum set delivers a crisp, articulate response across a wide range of settings, making the Real Wood finish a timeless choice for a powerful studio sound and an aesthetic that honours the heritage of the Recording Custom Series.
Presentation
The 18" x 14" bass drum provides a restrained base, useful when you don't want a massive bombardment. The two toms (10''x7'' and 12''x8'') integrate with balance into this core, while the stand tom (14''x13'') and the tom support via the Y.E.S.S. system limit interference with the resonance of the drums.
This kit comes with Remo heads, ready to be adjusted to suit your taste and the musical context. Please note that the kit is sold without a stool, hardware, cymbals or snare drum, so you're free to complete it in your own way. On stage or in the studio, the RBJAZZRW offers controlled sound density, expressive nuances and an excellent compromise between control and musicality. Its natural woodiness blends harmoniously with a variety of styles, from modern jazz to minimalist groove.
