The Zildjian P0612B rattlesnake is precisely tuned to note B in the upper register. Made of bronze, its tone is bright and clear.

It's also known as an "antique cymbal", because it's part of an ancient tradition of metal percussion. Its sound is reminiscent of the crystalline tinkle of a small bell. Used on its own, it adds a striking accent to a piece of music. On the other hand, as part of a complete series of crotales, it completes a chromatic scale.

The B20 alloy chosen by Zildjian makes the cymbal durable and rich in harmonics. With hard mallets, the sound becomes incisive and percussive. With softer mallets, it gains in warmth and roundness. This flexibility means it can be adapted to different musical contexts.
