The Acus Phantasma preamp is the control centre of the Phantasma system for acoustic and classical guitars equipped with the Acus pickup and piezo kit. It mixes the signals from the internal microphone and the piezo sensor to produce the most natural sound possible. Powered by a 9 V battery, it houses all the settings on the outside of the instrument, so there's no need to add electronics to the body.

Presentation
The Acus Phantasma preamp is designed to work with the Phantasma pickup system installed in an acoustic or classical guitar. It is sold on its own and does not include the internal microphone or the piezo sensor. Its role is to receive the signals from these 2 elements and then combine them. It is the heart of the Phantasma control system.
One of the main advantages of this design is that only the pick-up elements remain inside the instrument. The adjustments and electronics remain outside in a dedicated box. This approach avoids adding controls to the guitar's sides. It also limits the presence of electronics directly in the soundbox.
The AIR control acts on the microphone part to adjust its presence in the final mix. The HPF filter reduces certain low frequencies in the microphone to limit unwanted resonance. The DEPTH control acts on the piezo part. The LPF filter softens certain piezo frequencies to produce a less dry, less aggressive sound.
The overall volume is managed by the MASTER control on the preamp. The whole unit operates in class A for signal processing. Power is supplied by a 9 V battery. Connection to the instrument is via a stereo link dedicated to the Phantasma system.
