Gypsy Guitar
The Altamira M01F for left-handers takes up the spirit of Selmer-Maccaferri guitars in an Antique colour version with elegant F-holes, inspired by the world of Django Reinhardt and the gypsy jazz of the swing years. Its solid European spruce top combined with rosewood gives it a lively attack, great projection and the dry grain sought after in traditional Manouche playing. Designed for pumping, ensemble playing and solo passages, it comes with Savarez Argentine strings and a case.

Presentation
The Altamira M01F Antique for left-handed players builds on the heritage of Selmer-Maccaferri guitars in a version designed for left-handed players and enhanced by an aesthetic feature that is rare in the Gypsy world: the elegant F-holes. Inspired by the historical instruments associated with Django Reinhardt, they add to the visual character of the model while reinforcing its identity in an acoustic jazz configuration.
The story of this family of guitars began in the 1930s, when Selmer, a French manufacturer, collaborated with Mario Maccaferri to create a series of steel-string instruments with a design that was atypical for the time. Even after their collaboration ended, these models continued to be made and gradually became a benchmark in gypsy jazz.
The M01F Gauchère recaptures this spirit, with a solid European spruce top for clarity, responsiveness and projection. The rosewood back and sides enrich the register with greater depth, while retaining good definition in the chords. The result is the dry, punchy, slightly rumbling gypsy sound sought after in traditional playing.
The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provide a fluid feel under the fingers. Its 670 mm pitch retains the typical feel of Manouche playing, accompanying both pompe and faster melodic passages.
Designed for Gypsy swing, dynamic accompaniment and solo playing, the M01F Gauchère retains the spirit of historic instruments while remaining suitable for regular use. It comes with Savarez Argentine strings and a case.
