Gypsy Guitar
With its elegant F-holes and high-gloss finish, the Altamira M01F Left Handed offers a different interpretation of the Gypsy guitar, inspired by the Selmer-Maccaferri models associated with Django Reinhardt. Its solid European spruce top and rosewood body deliver a precise attack, great acoustic presence and the dry character so appreciated in gypsy swing. Designed for left-handed guitarists who alternate between pompe, accompaniment and solo playing, it comes with its own case.

Presentation
With its high-gloss finish and elegant F-holes, the Altamira M01F Left Handed has a personality all its own in the world of Gypsy guitars. Designed for left-handed guitarists, it takes its inspiration from the Selmer-Maccaferri instruments that marked the history of Gypsy jazz and accompanied the playing of Django Reinhardt, while offering a less classical aesthetic than the oval or large mouth configurations.
The story of this family of guitars began in the 1930s, when Selmer collaborated with Italian guitarist and luthier Mario Maccaferri to develop a series of steel-string instruments with an instantly recognisable design. Even after their collaboration ended, these models continued to span the decades and became a benchmark for gypsy swing.
On this M01F Gauchère version, the F-shaped soundholes give the model a strong visual identity and contribute to its acoustic character. The solid European spruce top provides a precise attack and excellent pick response. The rosewood back and sides add depth to the sound, while retaining the dry, articulate feel that is so important in gypsy jazz.
The high-gloss finish is an immediate eye-catcher, highlighting the curves of the body and the natural grain of the wood. The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard have a direct feel in the hand, while the 670 mm scale and 22 frets retain the traditional Manouche feel.
Designed for pompe, acoustic swing, group playing and solo passages, the M01F Left Handed is for musicians looking for a Gypsy guitar with a more distinctive aesthetic without losing the historic spirit of the style. Supplied with its case, it's an easy companion for rehearsals and concerts.
