Presentation
The Altamira M01F EN Gloss recaptures the spirit of the great gypsy guitars inspired by the Selmer-Maccaferri models, with a brighter appearance thanks to its high-gloss finish. Its F-shaped soundholes reinforce this highly recognisable visual identity, and recall the instruments that marked the history of Gypsy jazz.
Designed for lively, dynamic acoustic playing, this guitar develops a rapid response and a feeling of closeness to each note. This is the character that Gypsy swing is all about: chords that stand out clearly, a precise attack and melodies that retain their presence without becoming aggressive.
The solid European spruce top contributes to this responsiveness with a clear, immediate sound. The laminated Indian rosewood back and sides add depth, while retaining good definition in the rhythm section. The result is an instrument that is as expressive in accompaniment as it is in solo playing.
With its 670 mm scale, the feel under the fingers remains typical of Gypsy guitars, with slightly more tension for a clean attack and articulate playing. The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard complete the package, providing a stable, natural grip.
At home playing gypsy jazz, acoustic swing, gypsy waltzes or in acoustic settings where projection is important, the M01F EN Gloss comes with Savarez Argentine strings as standard, and is delivered with a case for transporting and protecting the instrument.
