ARTICLE N° 122949
The Altamira M20D EN takes its cues from the big gypsy guitars, with a construction designed for acoustic playing and the quest for a lively sound. Its wide-mouth format (D-shape) gives it a slightly different personality in the world of gypsy jazz, with a stronger presence in the midrange and a very direct playing feel. It's the kind of instrument that goes equally well with rhythm work and more lilting phrases.

The solid European spruce top plays an important role in this responsive feel. Every attack remains clean and clear, providing comfort in both regular pumping and more dynamic passages. The ovangkol back and sides add depth to the sound and a natural warmth that avoids sounding too dry.

The African mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard add to the overall comfort of the instrument. With its 670 mm scale and 52 mm nut, the M20D EN has all the feel you'd expect from a traditional Gypsy guitar: precise rhythm playing, good note separation and consistent response across the entire neck. Its low weight also adds to the comfort of long rehearsals and performances.

Designed for gypsy jazz, this guitar can also be used for acoustic swing or more contemporary approaches inspired by this world. Supplied with a hard case, it's ready for travel and regular playing.
