The Altamira Manouche MD RN RN follows in the tradition of Gypsy jazz guitars, inspired by the famous Selmer-Maccaferri models associated with Django Reinhardt. This type of instrument is designed above all for projection and clarity, two essential elements in an acoustic playing context where the guitar often has to carry above a group.

The gypsy-style body and long 670 mm scale give a feeling of marked tension under the fingers, with a clean attack and a very direct sound. This choice of design encourages the rhythm, pumping action and rapid phrases characteristic of gypsy swing.

The solid European spruce top provides a fast response and precise attack, while the maple back and sides add projection and brilliance to the sound. The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard ensure a stable grip and easy playability on the 22 frets.

With its 52 mm nut, the right hand has plenty of room for the rhythmic playing typical of the style, while the natural satin finish maintains a sober, traditional aesthetic, true to the spirit of historic instruments.
