Classical Guitar 4/4
Explore the Romantic repertoire with the Altamira Replica SOR III (Lacote) EN, a guitar inspired by the instruments of 19th-century Parisian luthier René François Lacôte. Its solid spruce top, flame maple back and sides and 630 mm scale produce a fine, nuanced response that is close to the feel of period instruments. Presentation
The Altamira Replica SOR III (Lacote) EN pays tribute to the great romantic guitars of the 19th century with an interpretation inspired by the work of René François Lacôte (1785-1855), the celebrated Paris luthier whose instruments influenced a whole generation of guitarists. Played by the likes of Fernando Sor, Ferdinando Carulli, Dionisio Aguado, Napoléon Coste and Marco Aurelio Zani de Ferranti, Lacôte guitars left an indelible mark on the history of the classical repertoire.
This model picks up on that spirit, with an approach focused on finesse of tone and control of nuance rather than raw power. The solid spruce top responds quickly to changes in touch, and provides a clear attack. The flamed maple back and sides add precision and definition, while the lacquered mahogany neck feels fluid in the hand.
The 630 mm scale adds to the comfort and recalls the proportions of the romantic instruments of the time. Combined with an ebony fingerboard and moustache bridge, it helps to restore the aesthetics and feel of historical models.
Designed for the repertoire of Fernando Sor, Mauro Giuliani and, more broadly, for the performance of nineteenth-century works, the Replica SOR III (Lacote) EN is aimed at musicians who are looking for nuanced, intimate and expressive playing.
