Presentation
The Martinez Standard MC-58S RN tells the story of woods selected one by one in the luthier’s workshop. The solid spruce top captures the vibration of the strings and projects it with richness, whilst the Indian rosewood back and sides enclose the sound within a resonant body. The Spanish fan bracing distributes the tension beneath the top and allows each note to unfold without being muffled.
The mahogany neck, joined using the traditional Spanish joint, meets the body at the exact point where handcrafted guitars gain their durability over time. An adjustable double-action truss rod keeps the neck straight, season after season, and the rosewood fingerboard features 20 frets, 12 of which extend beyond the body, with mother-of-pearl markers at the 5th, 7th and 9th frets to help you find your way without taking your eyes off the sheet music.
The 650 mm scale length ensures the tension of the Martinez strings feels just right under the fingers; a 52 mm bone nut transmits every pluck with clarity; and the gold-plated Martinez 48/58 tuning machines maintain tuning from session to session. The high-gloss PU finish in a natural colour adorns the classic body, enhanced by maple and ebony purfling on the top and a hand-inlaid natural wood mosaic rosette. A Martinez gig bag is supplied with the instrument straight from the workshop.

To find out more...
Martinez has its roots in Germany, where the brand was launched in 1978 under the leadership of Wolfgang Jellinghaus. In 2005, the company expanded into China with the establishment of a factory in Guangzhou. American luthier Kenny Hill then joined the team as a technical adviser.
This dual European and American heritage shapes the brand’s identity, with a focus on classical guitars. Since then, Martinez has been developing models inspired by Spanish lutherie, across several price points and using different types of wood.
The brand has a manufacturing facility in Guangzhou. This history explains the combination of a European identity with a well-organised Chinese production operation.
