Its architecture is based on a 100 mm copper voice coil combined with a neodymium motor optimised by FEA simulation, providing a good compromise between efficiency, thermal resistance and mechanical control.
Low-frequency performance is particularly well controlled, with a claimed response of 35 Hz to 1000 Hz, suitable for bass-reflex or hybrid loads used in professional sound reinforcement. The double silicone suspension helps to keep the moving parts stable during long excursions, while limiting power compression during prolonged use at high levels.
The mechanical design has also been thought out with endurance in mind. The ventilated air gap helps to cool the voice coil and maintain constant performance under heavy loads.
