Black Lion Audio - PG-2 Type F

In a studio, the stability and cleanliness of the electrical current are just as important as the converters or preamps. Black Lion's PG-2 Type F has been developed to meet this requirement with a high level of reliability. This 2U voltage stabiliser not only multiplies the number of rack outlets, it also provides real control over the quality of the power supply and reinforces the safety of the equipment connected.

The front panel gives immediate access to two filtered sockets, a 5V USB output for mobile peripherals and two XLR connectors for console lamps. The digital display allows live monitoring of voltage and current, while LED indicators provide information on the status of earthing, polarity, filtration and voltage anomalies. In the event of a critical overvoltage, an audible alarm is triggered to prevent any potential damage.

The heart of the system is based on PG-99 technology, which achieves a high-frequency noise filtration rate of up to 99.7%. To achieve this, Black Lion has incorporated top-quality Panasonic and Wima capacitors, ensuring consistent performance. The surge absorption capacity is 2775 joules, a reassuring figure in the event of violent electrical peaks.

At the rear, twelve sockets are divided into four groups: two for digital audio, one for analogue and one for high-power equipment. The analogue and high-current groups benefit from a time delay system to avoid power-up noises (such as speaker pops). This switch-on sequence protects the monitors and amplifiers, by starting them up last and switching them off first.
