The emblematic Katana series has been expanded to include a head designed for bassists of all kinds looking for power and quality sound. Featuring a 500W amp, it incorporates brand new options such as Cab Resonance calibration and Amp Feel selector for an even more authentic sound.

Now bassists can finally benefit from the expertise of the BOSS teams with this Katana 500 head.
Built around a state-of-the-art 500-watt Class D amp, this head is packed with professional tools and features for the serious player.
For example, the Katana incorporates a calibration system called 'Cab Resonance', enabling the head to adjust its output level and voicing to the speaker connected to it. This innovative option guarantees you the ideal sound response by adapting to the different cabinets you might encounter in the rehearsal room, at home or even on stage.
You can also change the character of the amp via a switch, making it sound Vintage (thicker) or Modern (more precise). Coupled with this is total control over your sound thanks to a full EQ (Bass, Low Mid, High Mid and Treble), plus a Hi Cut switch for fine-tuning the treble response at 3 different frequencies, and a Bottom pot for fine-tuning the infrabass response and eliminating potentially unpleasant cabinet vibrations.
As the icing on the cake, you can add compression, drive and even an effect to your sound system, and save it all in the on-board memory. You can even choose from over sixty effects by connecting the head to a PC (via USB) and synchronising with the BOSS Tone Studio application.
And users of active basses (preamp and/or microphones) can rest assured that an attenuation PAD has been provided to avoid any problems with their higher output levels.
But in addition to the possibility of connecting to a speaker (the KTN-C112B is highly recommended for hyper-dynamic sound) via the SpeakON power outputs, the BOSS engineers have thought of everyone by integrating a Line output via XLR socket, as well as a headphone output for working in complete discretion but which can also be used as a REC OUT.
