Presentation
In the early 1960s, the evolution of the electric guitar and its components began to influence art. The beautiful sound of Overdrive, which became known as the “rock sound,” was made possible by an impressive line of tube guitar amps. The evolution of these amps, reflecting the passion of master builders for greater musical expressiveness, gave birth to the legendary “Brown sound.” It was this same passion that inspired BOSS engineers in their search for the ideal rock sound. While the designs of the basic circuit blocks of amps have not changed much in the past, the engineers responsible for their design have patiently contributed to the evolution of the rock sound with their expertise in tuning and manufacturing. And here we are today: the team of Waza specialists at BOSS, with their remarkable know-how, bring to life the new BOSS Waza Amp. The BOSS Waza Amp thus contributes to the evolution and achieves the ideal “Brown sound” for today’s passionate artists.

The speaker used in the early Marshall Stack amps is often cited as the best-sounding one. Although it could only handle 20 watts of power, BOSS learned during the development of the Waza Amp that its mellow highs and clarity still appealed to many players. After testing many other speakers, BOSS concluded that none were better suited to the Brown sound than the one in the early Stack amps. However, its power limitation posed a fundamental problem for BOSS engineers, especially for the 2 x 12-inch cabinet configuration. In their efforts to achieve perfection, they found that the sound pressure simply wasn’t loud enough. With the experience and innovation of BOSS’s legendary R&D department, Waza engineers were able to develop a speaker that could deliver the original Brown sound of the 1970s, but with 80 watts of power. The Waza cabinet is available in 4 x 12 and 2 x 12-inch sizes. The closed-back enclosure is designed to match this new speaker to provide a strong presence, with dense sound pressure and impressive resonance.
