Presentation
The Cayin M-50CD is a CD player designed for audiophiles who wish to get the most out of their collection of audio CDs and CD-Rs. Its design is based on a Texas Instruments Burr Brown PCM1792 digital-to-analogue converter, a chip renowned for its smooth and balanced reproduction of recordings.
To ensure meticulous analogue reproduction, the Cayin M-50CD features a valve output stage comprising four 6922EH Gold valves. This design feeds the RCA and XLR line outputs, allowing for easy integration into a hi-fi system fitted with a compatible stereo amplifier or preamplifier.
The silent playback mechanism ensures a comfortable user experience, whilst the damped chassis helps to minimise vibrations that could affect playback performance. This robust construction, combined with a weight of 17 kg, is testament to the care taken throughout the design process.
The Cayin M-50CD also features optical, coaxial and AES/EBU digital outputs. These allow the use of an external D/A converter where desired. Thanks to its comprehensive range of connections and the combination of digital conversion and a valve amplifier stage, this player is an ideal solution for hi-fi systems dedicated to CD playback.
