The Chandler Limited Germanium Tone EQ Control is a Vintage Style Equalizer, with Germanium Transistors and Feedback Control. Ideal companion to the Germanium Pre Amp, the Chandler Limited Germanium Tone EQ Control offers the flexibility of the Drive and Feedback controls of the latter. But it also offers active and passive correction circuits, combined with a Germanium amplifier, which give it this smooth and round tone, which characterizes it.

  • Low Frequency Range: 20Hz to 320Hz (Cut), 35Hz-120Hz (Boost).
  • Interactive / Independent: You can select interactive "Pultec / Lang" curves with simultaneous accentuations and attenuations, allowing for strange and surprising combinations, or a standard filter, for more common bass frequencies.
  • Treble: Active band with 18 dB of emphasis / attenuation and to select the type of filter (Baxendall or bell). The bell filter affects a larger bandwidth (Q) than the presence filter to provide more flexibility. You have eight correction frequencies: 3k9, 4k7, 6k8, 8k2, 10k, 12k, 16k, 20k.
  • Feedback control: This setting determines the level of the signal routed from the amplifier output to the input. In addition to affecting the volume, this setting can change the sound markedly.
  • Thick Section: This section offers a variation of the Thick setting of the German Preamps. This passive band has settings for simultaneous emphasis / attenuation and excellent combinations, both Interactive and Independent. The Boost setting offers up to 20 dB of boost and is designed to operate in Interactive or Independent mode.
  • Presence: This active band offers up to 15 dB of emphasis / attenuation on 8 frequencies. The affected bandwidth is slightly narrower than that of the Treble band's bell filter, allowing for more diversity. You have 8 correction frequencies: 300, 500, 800, 1200, 3300, 4100, 6200 and 8300 Hz.

  • Warning, the Chandler Limited Germanium Tone Control does not come with a power supply. Sonovente recommends adding a PSU 1 or PSU-2 power supply.
