Presentation
The SPL PQ, shown here in its red dress, is a 2-channel 5-band parametric mastering equaliser.
Mastering means high quality at every level: components, precision, notched potentiometers for easy retrieval of the settings made for a particular job - everything has been designed to meet the needs of demanding sound engineers.
And because they are demanding, SPL has developed Rail 120V technology. This technology provides more headroom (a lot more), better dynamic range, less noise and harmonic distortion, all for clearer sound and less tiring work sessions over time. All the explanations can be found in the videos attached to this file.
On the practical side, the SPL PQ is designed so that each of the five bands can be activated or deactivated and - an exclusive SPL innovation - you can (for each band) switch separately from Constant Q to Proportional Q. In addition, the bypass of each band and the constant Q on the left side can be controlled by the right side in Link mode (stereo).
The notched potentiometers on the SPL PQ provide easy, precise recall of Gain, Frequency and Q parameters in 41 steps.
