DBX - ZC8 EU

The DBX ZC8 EU is designed to give the user direct control over a sound zone managed by a ZonePRO processor. Whilst some controllers in the ZC range are dedicated to a single function, the ZC8 EU combines two settings that are particularly useful in day-to-day use: selecting the audio source and adjusting the volume.

This combination makes it easy to adapt an installation to environments where audio requirements change throughout the day. In a restaurant with several separate areas, for example, staff can select the source intended for a particular room and then adjust its volume from the wall, without needing to access the equipment rack. In a hotel, the same controller can be used in a lounge, a reception room or a lobby to adjust the sound ambience locally whilst retaining the processing and distribution settings within the ZonePRO.

The source is selected using a programmable rotary selector. The integrator can therefore determine which sources will be accessible and organise their correspondence with the controller’s various positions. The volume buttons, meanwhile, allow the level of the relevant zone to be increased or decreased.

This separation between central configuration and local operation is particularly useful in professional installations. The technician retains control of the system from the processor, whilst users have access only to the controls necessary for their day-to-day operation. This minimises accidental changes and makes the system much more intuitive for people who are not audio specialists.
