When DiMarzio started working with Billy Corgan on guitar pickups signature, he started by trying the Air Norton in the neck, the middle and the Chopper Tone Zone in the bridge.
After playing with these pickups in several concerts, Billy asked some changes on the neck and bridge pickups. He wanted a deeper sound on the bass without losing dynamic and he did not want the sound becomes rough during phases of large distortions. For this, finely DiMarzio has decreased the frequency of a magnet of each micro responses thereby boost low while opening mediums. Thus were born the microphones DiMarzio Billy Corgan. This microphone also works perfectly in single coil mode.
