Drawmer - FC1 FET Compressor

The Drawmer FC1 analogue FET compressor is designed to provide fast and expressive dynamic control within a professional audio chain. Its architecture allows for precise compression control via Threshold, Ratio, Attack and Release settings, complemented by Input and Output controls.

The 21-position detented knobs make it easy to recall settings during repeated productions. This Drawmer module is suitable for a variety of sound-shaping applications, particularly for processing individual tracks, buses or sources requiring a responsive character. Its fast compression delivers a sense of controlled energy, with a distinctive analogue character.

The FC1’s sound-shaping section allows you to fine-tune the compression behaviour to suit the needs of the mix. BIG mode adjusts low-frequency detection to preserve their impact and limit certain pumping effects associated with low-end elements.

AIR mode retains more detail in the high frequencies to maintain an open sound for vocals, acoustic instruments or bright elements. These functions provide a more precise sonic direction, whilst ensuring the processing remains musical. The compressor thus becomes a tool for dynamic shaping, where each setting influences the overall balance of the signal.

This Drawmer module also features the CRUSH function, a harmonic saturation that adds analogue colouration to the processed signal. This section operates according to the input level to impart different levels of density to the bass, midrange and treble. The result can enrich a source with increased presence and a warmer texture.

PGM mode complements this approach with a release time adapted to the musical content detected above the compression threshold. This progressive control helps to maintain natural dynamics, even during sustained dynamic processing. The FC1 thus becomes as much a creative element as a control processor.

The connectivity, designed for 500-series racks, also offers advanced integration options within a modular system. Thanks to the chassis’s Link pinout, several compatible modules can share their gain reduction to operate together on stereo sources or in multi-channel configurations.
