Elektron’s PSU-4b is the official power supply unit for the Model:Samples and Model:Cycles. It delivers 5 V DC at 1.2 A and operates on mains voltages from 100 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. Its interchangeable adaptors cover a wide range of international plug standards. An ideal solution for replacing a lost power supply or for having a second PSU dedicated to your groovebox.
Presentation
The Elektron PSU-4b is a replacement mains power supply designed for the Elektron Model:Samples and Model:Cycles grooveboxes. It is the power supply currently specified by Elektron for these two units, which can also operate with the older PSU-4.
The PSU-4b provides a 5 V DC output with a current of 1.2 A, in line with the electrical requirements of these units. Its cylindrical connector has an external diameter of 3.5 mm and an internal diameter of 1.35 mm, with centre-positive polarity. These specifications are important when looking for a replacement power supply: an incorrect voltage, insufficient current or an unsuitable connector can render a power supply incompatible with the device.
Thanks to its universal mains input of 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, the PSU-4B can be used on various international electricity networks. Elektron supplies adaptors for several plug standards with the power supply: North America, mainland Europe, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Australia and China.
This power supply is therefore a particularly useful accessory for users who have lost or damaged their original power supply, but also for musicians who wish to keep a spare PSU in their studio, flight case or gear bag.
Compatibility: Elektron Model:Samples / Cycles. The PSU-4b is not a universal power supply designed for the entire Elektron range: the brand’s other units use, in particular, the PSU-3c or PSU-2b power supplies, which have different electrical specifications.
