Presentation
The E653 Artist Edition guitar amp head is a special piece with a unique history. Based on the Ritchie Blackmore E650 amp, it was designed in 2005 for guitarist Doug Aldrich. It incorporates modifications, including the use of EL34 tubes in the power stage, to deliver great dynamics and exceptional sound quality.
This amp was created with the aim of providing easy handling, practical functionality and sufficient performance. Unfortunately, it was never marketed at the time and has remained in the shadows, on display in our showroom in Los Angeles.
However, it quickly became a sensation among the big-name musicians who discovered it. Legends such as Jimmy Page, Ken Hammer, Vivian Campbell, Paul Stanley and Scott Gorham had the opportunity to play on it. Even G. M., a major artist, used it in the studio in the final years before his death.
Because of the enthusiastic response from world-class guitarists, we decided to take this model from prototype to official ENGL amp. As a result, the E653 Artist Edition is now available to musicians around the world, offering exceptional sound and a history rich in musical legends.
