Epiphone - Broadway Vintage Sunburst

Since 1931, the year Epiphone launched its Masterbilt range in New York, the brand’s history has revolved around archtop guitars and jazz. The Epiphone Broadway Vintage Sunburst carries on this legacy to this day, from its original New York workshops to its induction into the Gibson family in 1957.

Its fully hollow construction delivers a surprising amount of acoustic volume, making it playable unplugged during rehearsals, with a 24.75-inch scale length. The selected spruce top and laminated maple body, edged with 6-ply binding, define the Broadway silhouette. The three-piece maple neck, with a SlimTaper 60s C profile, sits comfortably in the hand like a classic electric model, whilst the rosewood fingerboard features 20 medium-jumbo frets, ideal for both slides and barre chords. The mother-of-pearl and abalone block inlays guide the eye along the neck.

Two Alnico Classic PRO pickups, mounted in an HH configuration beneath gold-coloured covers, reproduce the woody tone of the body and send it to the amp via a 6.35 mm jack, controlled by two volume controls, two CTS tone controls and a 3-position selector switch. The 42.93 mm wide Graph Tech nut precedes the floating rosewood bridge and the gold-coloured Frequensator tailpiece, which stabilise the tuning note by note.

The Clipped Dovewing headstock, with its ‘Tree of Life’ mother-of-pearl inlay, its Epiphone logo and its Grover Rotomatic tuning machines round off the description with a touch of craftsmanship, complemented by the multi-ply pickguard and the Crescent Bullet truss rod cover, before the included premium gig bag takes over for transport.
