D'Angelico - Premier EXL-1 Satin Honey Blonde
D'Angelico Premier EXL-1 Satin Honey Blonde D'Angelico unveils the Premier EXL-1 Satin Honey Blonde, a hollow-body guitar that evokes the golden age of New York jazz. Its laminated spruce top and Duncan Designed Floating Mini-Humbucker pickup deliver a warm, mellow tone. The 647.7 mm scale length ensures a comfortable feel under the fingers.
Presentation
The laminated spruce top combines with the laminated flamed maple sides and back to create a body that resonates richly. The maple neck, shaped to a C-profile and fitted with a set-neck construction, moulds to the palm and guides the player’s touch across twenty-two Medium Vintage Nickel Silver frets. The ovangkol fingerboard, with a radius of 355.6 mm, is equally suited to slides and barre chords.
The instrument’s electrical heart lies in a Duncan Designed Floating Mini-Humbucker, fitted in the neck position and controlled by a simple volume/tone control pair. This streamlined wiring allows the guitarist’s touch to dictate the nuance, from a velvety soft tone to a more biting edge. The Grover 109 Super Rotomatic tuners, with their chrome finish, maintain tuning consistently, session after session.
It’s the details that make all the difference: a 5-ply Tortoise Scalini pickguard, White Pearloid block fret markers, a Stairstep tailpiece and three-ply binding on the headstock and fingerboard create a refined Art Deco look. D’Angelico Electrozinc Jazz 12-52 strings complete this sonic package, designed for jazz, blues or mellow pop. A DAPEEXL1BAG gig bag is included for transporting the instrument.

Spotlight on
D'Angelico is a New York brand of electric guitars that has existed since 1938. First went unnoticed because the guitars were manufactured only by hand in a very small workshop by two luthiers; it is in 2011, at a show at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, that D'Angelico is noticed. Since then, D'Angelico guitars have been a real success thanks to their quality of manufacture and their price.
