In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Fender musical instruments became increasingly popular, but although Fender's catalog grew, the Stratocaster reigned supreme. In 1961, the aesthetics of the Stratocaster were refined; the 3-tone Sunburst finish reformulated to feature a brighter red and deeper black, and a three-ply pickguard accentuate the Strat's curves.

The three Pure Vintage 61 Single-Coil pickups capture the legendary sound of the '60s Stratocaster, delivering brilliant clarity, dynamic response and incomparable warmth.
