The FiiO M33 R2R Blue is an audiophile portable music player that combines the functions of a USB DAC and a desktop audio source in a single device. Its 24-bit R2R converter, comprising 192 matched resistors, supports PCM files up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512.
The amplification, provided by eight operational amplifiers, delivers 1100 mW via the 4.4 mm balanced output and 470 mW via the 3.5 mm unbalanced output, covering a wide range of headphones and earphones from 16 to 300 ohms. The device runs on Android 13 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD.
The main streaming apps are accessible natively without the need for additional devices. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with aptX HD, LDAC and LHDC codecs, as well as AirPlay and DLNA for home network playback. The Hi-Res IPS touchscreen measures 5.5 inches. Battery life is up to 14 hours when using the 3.5 mm output. A desktop mode makes it easy to use as a fixed installation at home or in a studio.
