Designed for production environments requiring stable reference listening, the Focal Solo6 ST6 combines a high level of fidelity with ergonomics designed for sound professionals. This 2-way speaker concentrates all the expertise of the French brand, combining a 6.5-inch 'W' composite cone woofer with a pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter, capable of reproducing high frequencies up to 40 kHz without distortion.
The Solo6 ST6 features a large laminar port to limit turbulence noise and ensure accurate bass response, even close to walls. Its extended frequency response (40 Hz - 40 kHz) provides a stable stereo image and excellent tonal balance, while Focus mode allows you to switch temporarily to reduced-band listening (110 Hz - 10 kHz), simulating a small monitor to check mix compatibility.
The speaker incorporates two independent amplifier stages: 80 W RMS for the bass and 50 W RMS for the treble, ensuring a fast, dynamic response. Rear controls (sensitivity, HPF, bass, midrange and treble equalisation) enable the speaker's behaviour to be finely tuned to the acoustics of the room.
Solid and well thought-out, the Solo6 ST6 is constructed from 22 mm MDF with dark red veneered wood sides, giving the whole unit a sober, elegant appearance. Its compact size (33.4 x 24.6 x 29.5 cm) makes it easy to fit onto a console or stand, and it can also be wall- or ceiling-mounted using suitable K&M brackets (not supplied).

On the basis of the product data sheets alone, these models do not seem to offer any improvement in bass. However, this can simply be explained by the fact that, since the development of the first Solo6 and Twin6, Focal has renovated its anechoic chamber and modernised its analysis tools, thereby greatly increasing their precision. You'll also notice that the product sheets for the first Solo6 Be and Twin6 Be didn't specify the frequency response measurement range in dB.
If you haven't already done so, we encourage you to listen to these new speakers and compare them to the previous Solo6 and Twin6. You'll see that there's no deterioration in performance - quite the contrary!
