Genelec GLM Loudspeaker Kit, calibration tool for Genelec 8200, 8300, 8400, 7200 and 7300 series loudspeakers (SAM), including a network interface, a measurement microphone and the GLM diffusion processor software (downloadable).

ARTICLE N° 83661
The GLM software has been improving for over 15 years. It is designed to make Genelec's compatible SAM, 8300 and 7300 series monitors 'intelligent'.
The aim is to minimise unwanted acoustic influences in your room and help your mixes sound perfect in all situations. Among other new features, GLM 4.2 introduces a powerful GRADE report, extending the scope of GLM beyond very fine system calibration to an in-depth analysis of the room and your setup.

If your mixes don't sound as good as you'd like outside your studio, it's because your monitors and your room are interacting to produce a frequency response that alters the listening experience, it's no longer neutral and this prevents you from having coherent, balanced mixes on other listening systems.

The intuitive and clever GLM 4 software, which is Mac and Windows compatible, will help you create an unrivalled, true-to-life sound reference, enabling you to create better mixes faster.

Unleash your creativity:
GLM 4 software tightly integrates with the advanced internal DSP circuitry found in our growing family of Genelec intelligent active monitors and subwoofers. GLM 4's reference microphone kit allows you to analyse your acoustic environment, after which GLM 4.2's AutoCal 2 function quickly optimises each monitor for level, distance delay, subwoofer crossover phase and room response equalisation, with the ability to further refine the system to taste.

GLM 4.2 calibrates huge immersive monitoring systems, compact systems and ultra-close systems. Its new Calibration Group ID and Subwoofer Group ID features further enhance the calibration of monitors as symmetrical groups and allow multiple subwoofers to work together in highly flexible arrangements. So whether you're looking to enhance your listening experience in an already excellent room, or working in more stimulating and lively sound spaces, GLM 4.2 is your friend, offering our most advanced and user-friendly system management and scalability to date - from stereo to immersive.

With the introduction of the GRADE report, those wishing to familiarise themselves with room enhancements, or simply hand over detailed measurements to a professional acoustic engineer, can now use GLM 4 to create a comprehensive analysis of their room and system performance. The report, which as an introductory offer is available free of charge throughout 2022, provides specific observations and advice on any acoustic issues, helping you to refine the acoustic treatment of the room, adjust monitor and listener positions, optimise bass management and check ITU compliance. -R BS.1116 recommendations.

Total control:
And that's not all. Having optimised your monitoring system for your room and given you the opportunity to accurately evaluate further enhancements, GLM acts as a powerful monitor controller - allowing you to switch between monitors, maintain precise control over listening levels, and much more.

Created in collaboration with designer Harri Koskinen, GLM 4's inspired hexagonal user interface fuses a clean, attractive aesthetic with a unique character that grows and evolves naturally with any expansion of your system. With a choice of 10 languages and light and dark colour themes, the GLM 4 user interface is highly adaptable to your needs.

By introducing remote MIDI compatibility, GLM 4.2 creates a faster, smoother monitor control experience with DAWs and control surfaces, allowing external touch control of key functions, including playback volume level and activation of mutes, volume presets, bass management and monitor groups.

Get ready to network:
Please note that to enable the GLM software to integrate with your active smart monitors, you will also need the Genelec Network Adapter Kit (8300-601) - which includes the GLM Network Adapter, 8300A Calibration Microphone and Microphone Stand, 1.8m USB cable and Quick Connect Guide. The network adapter connects to your Mac or PC via the supplied USB cable, and to your monitors via a 5 metre CAT cable (which is supplied separately with each monitor).

The GLM 4 cannot control 'traditional' Genelec analogue monitors. If you are using our standard active models, make sure you adjust their rear panel DIP switches for neutral frequency response after placement in the room. Full details can be found in each user manual.
