The Gretsch CC2-J404-SSP Catalina Club is built on 7-ply mahogany drums with a 30° chamfer, a historic Gretsch choice for round bass and legible attack. The 20" x 14" bass drum provides a solid base, complemented by a well-balanced 12" x 8" tom and 14" x 14" bass tom.

The Gretsch CC2-J404-SSP Catalina Club Sahara Sparkle uses 7-ply mahogany drums, a material adopted by Gretsch from the launch of the Catalina Club series to explore new sounds outside American production. The 30° chamfer ensures precise contact between the head and the barrel, improving response and control.
The 20" x 14" bass drum develops a full bass, equally suited to subdued playing and harder hitting. The 12" x 8" tom delivers a clear attack with a smooth descent. The 14" x 14" bass tom adds depth without excessive drag. The 14" x 5" snare drum remains responsive and legible in both low and high dynamics.
The triple-flange 1.6 mm steel hoops contribute to stable, controlled projection. The wood hoops on the bass drum enhance the feeling of roundness in the lower end of the spectrum. The Gretsch skins made by Remo provide simple, consistent tuning throughout the kit. The single tom holder and Mini GTS system limit unwanted vibrations. The 'Gas Cap' bass drum mounting plate improves stability on the floor.
Chrome hardware withstands repeated adjustment without excessive play. The Sahara Sparkle finish adds a distinctive visual presence, inspired by the brand's vintage aesthetic.
