Hagstrom - Megin Grey Burst

With its double cutaway design and Grey Burst finish, the Hagstrom Megin has a distinctive character without being over the top. This 6-string electric guitar is perfectly suited to guitarists who play rock, blues or heavier styles, and who want an instrument capable of adapting to different ways of playing the neck. The mahogany body provides a rich tonal foundation, whilst the set mahogany neck features a mortise-and-tenon joint – a construction that promotes the smooth transmission of vibrations between the two parts of the instrument. This contributes significantly to the sensation that notes remain clearly present when you let a chord or riff ring out.

The two Hagstrom Custom 62 humbuckers then give the Megin real versatility. The neck-position humbucker has a medium output of 8.2 kΩ, whilst the bridge-position model reaches 13.8 kΩ for a more powerful response. In practice, you can switch from a rounder, warmer tone to a more incisive attack simply by adjusting the 3-position selector switch. The volume and tone controls are deliberately kept simple, allowing you to quickly adjust your tone without taking your eyes off your playing. With its 25.5" scale length, the guitar also retains crisp note definition and proves particularly impressive when you drop the tuning.

The Resinator™ fingerboard rounds off the package with a clear and precise tone, whilst the H-Expander™ helps keep the neck stable and contributes to the sustain characteristic of Hagstrom guitars. The 22 Medium Jumbo frets provide a comfortable playing surface for working on bends, chords or more technical passages. Finally, the wrap-around bridge channels the energy of the strings towards the body, promoting a quick response and good note length. This is a guitar that can easily transition from a laid-back session to a rehearsal or gig with a simple approach: you plug it in, choose your pickup and play.
