Hagstrom - Megin Crème

Sometimes all it takes is a well-balanced instrument to make you want to play for longer. With its cream finish, three-ply synthetic tortoiseshell pickguard and double cutaway design, the Hagstrom Megin Crème has an aesthetic reminiscent of certain classic electric guitars, whilst retaining a personality all of its own. Its mahogany body forms the basis for a full, resonant tone, whilst the mahogany neck is joined to the body using a glued mortise-and-tenon joint. This construction facilitates the transfer of vibrations between the neck and the body, helping to give the notes presence when you let a chord ring out or strike a riff.

To shape your tone, the Megin features two Hagstrom Custom 62 humbuckers with complementary characteristics. The neck pickup, with its medium output, is particularly suited to rounder tones and melodic parts, whilst the high-output bridge pickup delivers more energy for rhythm playing and overdriven tones. The 3-way switch allows you to switch quickly between the two, with just one volume and one tone control to manage the essentials without overcomplicating the settings. The 25.5" scale length, meanwhile, provides precise response and good definition, particularly when using lower tunings.

The feel under your fingers is also down to the Resinator™ fingerboard, whose clear response helps you distinguish each note, and the 22 Medium Jumbo frets. The H-Expander™ contributes to the neck’s stability whilst enhancing the instrument’s sustain. At the other end, the Hagstrom Wrap Around bridge efficiently transfers the energy from the strings to the body and features saddles that offer a wide range of adjustment for intonation.
